Folk-pop Portlandians Drew Grow and the Pastors’ Wives load into Bar Pink Thursday night. It’s been a rough-and-tumble winter for Grow, who wrecked the band’s van in a January Nor’wester. Back on his feet means back onstage for the intrepid singer-songwriter who, while touring in support of the band’s s/t debut last year, dropped chill solo set Comfortable Feel . The band is on a month-long Left Coast swing working out the material for their new thing, due to drop later this year. You like vocal folk, then get ready for the goosebumps — the quartet breathes one breath.... ’Round the bend, Soda Bar sets up art-rock trio the Billy Nayer Show . It’s been a long and loopy road for this NY crew. Since its inception in ’92, BNS has been spit on by punks — it’s tradition — and lauded at Sundance for their “space-Western” film The American Astronaut . Always an interesting set. No spitting. That’s just rude.... San Diego rarity Birdzilla alights at Tin Can Ale House with Dreamgoatz , Craig , Men Seeking Women , and men seeking women. Eureka-based “junk-pop” archaeologists Dreamgoatz is “an amalgamation of the last 10,000 years of the musical fossil record.” Like, Jurassic.... And rock-n-soul sister Lady Dottie dons her Diamonds at El Dorado downtown. That group in that room is some good puddin’, y’all.
