That little girl looks just like all of the little girls who trample in and out of my home all weekend, raiding my fridge, hogging my computer, and screaming "THAT'S MY SONG!" at every other tune on the radio.

Jellybean, this is a tragic accident, but no need to punish responsible, law-abiding citizens because of a few idiots. Punish the people responsible, period. You wouldn't say "Let's make gas $500 a gallon so people will be careful where they drive and avoid car wrecks." (And by the way, RESPONSIBLE gun owners practice at the range, they don't get a gun and not know how to efficently use it.)

Here is the problem with the NRA position on everything related to firearms: Most folks are "minimally responsible" with firearms (by NRA standards) and therefore entitled to arsenal up -- right up until the time they are not.

Most folks who shoot others -- accidentally or on purpose -- are "first-timers" -- who have never shot anyone before (or, at least, gotton caught).

Four morons shooting guns into the air -- apparently unaquainted with the law of gravity -- are a PERFECT example of the issue. The NRA would consider it a violation of their God-given right to have guns if they could not do so with out a safety class and a background check (and, maybe, an IQ test), a license and insurance.

By the way, it is ironic that those who wish to claim to be responsible enough to be trusted with guns are loathe to allow a requirement that they be OBJECTIVELY shown to be so responsible. If you really think only responsible folks should own guns, why not license them -- like cars?

What good does it do to punish these four fools after the child is dead?

I never said anything about the NRA or not wanting background checks for people to purchase firearms. That's your strawmanning and ranting off on a tangent.

You cannot legislate common sense. You punish people that to do the deed, you don't punish everyone "just in case", that's ridiculous.

And you think these people shouldn't be charged just because it won't bring the little girl back? Let's not punish drunk drivers that kill either, since it won't bring back the person they ran into.

After I decided to go forward, he voluntarily offered to bring the car to me at my home or my job for my personal inspection, which he did. The car was a Chrysler 300 with very low miles and it looked brand new inside and out. That vehicle was everything he said it would be over the phone so I bought it. He even stuck to his original offer for my trade-in even though my VW turned out to be in worst shape than even I thought it was in. I honestly would not hesitate to call Don the very next time I'm in need of a car.

P.S. This man truly no nonsense and no BS!!!!!
