1. Delve into the history of life along the Passaic

The fourth biennial conference of the William Carlos William Society, "Life along the Passaic River," will be held Thursday, June 16, through Saturday, June 18. The event will be held in the Cheng Library Auditorium, located on the campus of William Paterson University, located at 300 Pompton Rd. in Wayne . The gathering and reception will start on Thursday, June 16, from 6-7 p.m. The keynote speaker, Christopher MacGowan of The College of William and Mary, will give a talk, "Marriage along the Passaic," at 7 p.m. On Friday, June 17, conferences will be held from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. A buffet lunch and breaks will be offered. A reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, June 19, conferences will be held from 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. At 12:15 p.m., attendees will take a bus tour with a box lunch along the Passaic River to Rutherford and Ridge Road. 2. Learn about the canals of NJ

The Lambert Castle Museum of Paterson will host the exhibit, "The Canals of New Jersey," on view through June 23. The traveling exhibit, created by the Canal Society of New Jersey, features historic photographic views of the canals, maps, sketches, text and also explains the operation of the Morris Canal, famous inclined planes. The exhibit has been traveling across the state, appearing at numerous libraries, parks, corporations and historic sites. The Lambert Castle Museum, located at 3 Valley Rd. in Paterson, is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 seniors and $3 for children 5 years and older. 3. Paddle the Meadowlands with Dad

The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission will hold a Father's Day weekend canoe paddle on June 18, 8:30 a.m. The NJMC is celebrating Father's Day Weekend with a three-hour guided paddle in Saw Mill Creek Wildlife Management Area, a wonderful wetlands oasis just off the Hackensack River. Each canoe will hold up to three people, and it is preferred that at least one person in each canoe have some experience. Meet at Laurel Hill County Park Boat Launch in Secaucus . So you want to study some easy card tricks? Then this article is for you. I am going to teach you this card trick.

Phase One : Let a person from the viewers to shuffle the pack of cards very good.

Phase Two : As they give it back to you, peek at the bottom card.

Phase Three : Controlling the pack of cards in your left hand, use your forefinger to drag the bottom card (which you know) back approximately a centimeter from the front edge of the pack of cards.

Phase Four : Start to deal from the bottom of the pack, arranging the cards face up on the board. Be sure to hold on to the very end card! Tell the audience to scream stop, and that the next card you place down will be their card which you will later find.

Phase Five : When an individual shouts stop, bring out the card you have been keeping back and slam it face down on the table.

Phase Six : Say to the viewers to look at the card, put it back in the deck, and mix while you turn your back.

Phase Seven : You can now look through the pack of cards and find their preferred card.

This card trick can be very effective if you deal from the bottom of the pack and when the viewers shout stop, you slam down the card and scream out what it is.
