Phillips Famous Seafood opens at Harrisburg International Airport
Passengers passing through Harrisburg International Airport can now dine on crab cakes and shrimp while they wait for their flights.Although Phillips Famous Seafood opened its doors to HIA passengers about three weeks ago, the restaurant will make it official with a ribbon-cutting tomorrow.
Phillips replaced the Varsity Grille. The sit-down seafood restaurant joins McDonald’s, Subway, Hudson News, The Capital Cafe and Starbucks in the airport’s food line-up. Only ticketed passengers can go to the restaurant.
HIA spokesman Scott Miller said that Phillips has been well-received by travelers. The airport does not have any immediate plans to add any more restaurants.
I also welcome Phillips' jobs although I never fly. I just don't understand the thought process of only putting restaurants and stores in areas of the airport that only travelers can reach. What about the people picking up or dropping off the travelers? They would certainly make more money if they could reach the general public and just make going to the airport more fun. I wanted to buy something Pennsylvania related for my child moving across the country but couldn't get to it.
