I see the Murdoch shills are out in force. A story about rentals becomes proof of BBC lying. Its interesting that the BBC has been caught in a lie after adopting more "free market" standards. That is the prioritising style over substance. It all looks flash but the standards and oversight have slipped. Bring back grizzled old journos with drink problems who understood the need to not lie to the audience - like Sky emporor does regularly.

I haven't seen any anecdotal evidence of rents rising - they're the same/marginally higher in my area than they were 10 years ago. In real terms they've been falling and I don't currently see any signs of rental asking prices increasing. A rise in rental values, unless accompanied by increasing void periods, surely can't be possible when RPI/CPI is running at much higher rates than wage inflation.
